The Ancient Dagger Necklace is made of a fossilized Orthoceras, an ocean creature which is today extinct. The particular fossils I use for this necklace are about 345-395 million years old and are found in Erfoud in today's Morocco. To wear the bones of this ancient animal, imbedded in stone and held by silver, is to connect with our ancestry and the raw man inside of you. Roam free and carry this dagger proudly, let it remind you of the power of our eternal Mother Nature.
I hand made the bezel setting and set the fossil in silver with an open back, the pendant hangs from an oxidized sterling silver chain including two hematite beads with a black alabaster bead in between. The chain is finished off with a classic hook clasp, which makes the length of the necklace adjustable. All metal parts are sterling silver.
